Artist Statement

My practice draws from the memory of ancient civilisations, particularly India, and the many ways their stories continue to live in the present.

Indian philosophy, history, religion, literature and traditional art forms shape my visual language. Growing up in West Bengal, where folk culture is woven into everyday life, taught me to see these traditions not as relics of the past, but as living forms of knowledge.

Through my work, I revisit indigenous narratives, symbols and time-worn cultural expressions, interpreting them through a contemporary lens.

I am interested in what survives across generations, what is forgotten and what can be seen anew.

Each composition becomes an act of remembrance, carrying the texture of the past into the present with sincerity, emotion and a sense of cultural continuity.
